Overview

RMScope is a lightweight RMS, LUFS, true peak meter that provides real-time visual feedback of RMS/LUFS levels and true peak values.

The plugin features a VU-style horizontal meter with gradient fill, numeric overlays for RMS/LUFS and True Peak, input/output side meters/clip indicators, and low CPU usage for precise monitoring.

RMScope uses VU-style smoothing to approximate human-perceived loudness while also displaying true peak values.

🎚️ RMS & True Peak Metering

• Displays smoothed RMS values using per-sample VU smoothing.
• Shows True Peak numeric overlay with peak hold (0.5s) and fade-out.
• Central horizontal VU meter with gradient fill (green → yellow → red) and side input/output meters for fast monitoring.

📊 LUFS Meters

• Accurate ITU-R BS.1770-4 compliant loudness measurement with full K-weighting filter.
• Includes both Momentary (400 ms) and Short-Term (3s) LUFS displays.
• Max Momentary tracks the peak loudness moment encountered during the session.
• LRA (Loudness Range) measures dynamic distribution from the 10th to 95th percentile.
• Readouts are internally gated to prevent low-level noise from skewing the measurement.
• Loudness values are processed per-block and smoothed for stable real-time visualisation.

⚡ Peak Hold & Fade

• Peak hold line tracks the highest output peak in real-time, decaying smoothly after 0.5s hold.
• Numeric RMS & TP overlay fades along with the peak hold line for clarity.

🛠️ Controls

• RMS Window – Select 300ms (VU) or 600ms (40A) smoothing. Hoverable tooltip guides usage.
• Clip Indicators – Displays input/output clipping; click to reset.

📊 Visual Feedback

• Central horizontal VU meter with smoothed RMS fill and overlaid peak hold line.
• Numeric RMS text (black with white shadow) and True Peak (white with black shadow).
• Side meters for quick input/output monitoring with interactive clip feedback.
